As 2018 has come to an end and we look back on the year, we have much to be thankful for here at The Atrium, A Choice Community, including a wonderful Christmas for our staff and residents.
The Spirit of Giving
Traci Leitenberger, Administrator at The Atrium, was delighted to learn her staff took the initiative to collect donations amongst themselves and purchase gifts to make customized baskets for every resident, depending on their interests and needs. Some personal care residents at The Atrium, a licensed community to accommodate 90 residents, may not have family in town to visit with on the holidays, which leads this compassionate gesture to carry an even more special meaning.
It is inspiring to see a team of employees to take their calling the extra mile with supporting and caring for their residents. Here at The Atrium, we abide by and teach a “WE CARE” training and customer service program. Part of this mission was clearly demonstrated by these staff members: “Actions speak louder than words.”
Visitors and Volunteers Bringing Joy
Johnstown is blessed to have local civic leaders and volunteers give of their time to be with our residents during the holiday season. Mr. Craig Saylor, who has vast experience in the healthcare industry and serves on the Board of Directors of Senior Choice, decided to spread some cheer as Santa on Christmas morning by visiting with residents at The Atrium. Senior Choice, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing senior services at The Atrium in Johnstown, The Patriot located in Somerset and Beacon Ridge in Indiana, PA.
Employees, families, volunteers, and friends such as Mr. Saylor truly helped to make a special and joyful Christmas for residents at The Atrium, A Choice Community.
